In this talk, I will present our recent progress collaborated with Prof. Gui-Qiang G. Chen and Prof. Paolo Secchi on two kinds of characteristic discontinuities: relativisitic vortex sheets in 3D Minkowski spacetime and characteristic discontinuities in 3D elastodynamics.
